Casualty Assistance Calls Officer (CACO) TRAINING

What is a CACO? A Casualty Assistance Calls Officer (CACO) is the official representative for the Secretary of the Navy who provides information, resources and assistance to the Primary Next of Kin (PNOK) and Secondary Next of Kin (SNOK) in the event of a casualty. Their full time responsibility and mission is to assist families during a difficult time and ensure they receive the benefits and entitlements due. Call 619-532-3955 to register.

Command Individual Augmentee Coordinator (CIAC) Meeting

Learn tips for ensuring your command’s program is run effectively and efficiently, share best practices, and learn about the latest resources to support Individual Augmentees (IAs) and their families.

Command Financial Specialist (CFS) Initial Training

All Navy commands must appoint and ensure training for an adequate number of Command Financial Specialists (CFSs) to meet OPNAVINST requirements. This five-day training provides invaluable training to ensure CFSs have the latest tools to serve as effective financial specialists for their respective commands. Pre-registration is required. Call (619) 545-3645 to register.

Command Financial Specialist (CFS) Refresher Training

Appointed CFSs must attend refresher training every three (3) years after initial training to keep within regulations. The refresher training helps to ensure all CFSs have the knowledge base and skill set to continue to function as effective CFSs through: discussions on the financial planning worksheet, latest financial trends, schemes, potential pitfalls, and other relevant topics. Command triads and other leaders are also highly encouraged to attend. Call (619) 545-3645 to register.

Command Sponsor Coordinator Training

All commands must appoint a Sponsor Coordinator to oversee the support provided to incoming and outgoing Sailors at the command. Per OPNAVINST 1740.3C, Sponsor Coordinators should receive initial training from FFSC to learn more about the program policy, requirements, and resources for relocating Sailors and families. Training is also available by individual request. For more information or to register, call (866) 923-6478.

Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Command Representative Initial Training

FAP strives to eliminate domestic abuse and to break the cycle of violence in military families through prevention and early intervention, victim safety and support, treatment intervention, and command engagement. This session is specifically designed for command leadership triads, Command Ombudsman (with command approval) and others that support the command’s Family Advocacy Program efforts. Call 619-553-7505 to register.

Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Command Representative Refresher Training

Family Advocacy Program offering quarterly updates to command representatives and command leadership. Call 619-553-7505 to register.

Leadership Resource Training (LRT)

Are you a lead within your division, department, or command? Are you a command Ombudsman? Interested in learning more about the resources available to promote Sailor and family resiliency and readiness? This class is available to anyone in a leadership position to receive the latest information about agencies designed to support military personnel and their families. Call 866-923-6478 to register.

Transition: Goals, Plan, Success (TGPS)

FFSC offers all TGPS sessions, including the mandatory five-day course for separating personnel, optional two-day electives, and the capstone requirement. Command Career Counselors should call 619-767-1736, or email to reserve quotas with the FFSC TGPS Coordinator.

Victim Witness Assistance Coordinator (VWAC) Training

All commands must appoint a VWAC and ensure training is received. Call (619) 556-0237 to register for this training.
