Group Exercise Classes

The Fit Stop Fitness Center conducts FREE ongoing classes for all levels of fitness! Our certified instructors will be able to help you meet your fitness goals and push you past your plateau! All classes are held at the Seal Beach Fitness Center and Gymnasium, Bldg. 16 (open Monday-Friday, 6 am-8 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm and instructed by the Fitness Staff unless otherwise noted). All MWR programs and events listed are designed for Active Duty, Reservists, military family members, retired and DoD employees, unless otherwise noted. Monday

  • Command PT: 6-8 am

  • Functional Fitness: 7:30-8:30 am

Wednesday

  • Military Physical Training: 6-8 am (Instructor: CFL or Fitness Staff CFL)
  • Step It Up: 7:30-8:30 am
  • Power Flow: 11:45 am-12:45 pm

Thursday

  • Outdoor Fitness: 7:30-8:30 am
  • Outdoor Fitness: 11:45 am-12:45 pm

Friday

  • Military Physical Training: 6-8 am (Instructor: CFL or Fitness Staff CFL)

Athletics Challenge Cup

MWR Athletics offers a wide variety of sporting competitions for Active Duty, their Spouses, Ready Reservists, and DoD Permanent Contracted Personnel. Each registered command will compete in multiple tournaments and designated fitness events throughout the year to accumulate points. The command that finishes the year with the most accumulated points will be presented the Captain's Cup Trophy; the Captain's Cup Trophy will then be on display at the winning command until defeated.

Class Descriptions

Cross Training: Put your body to the test with this high intensity interval training class! You will learn new skills to take your fitness to the next level. All levels welcome*

Functional Fitness: This exercise class will challenge you to the “core” by improving activities of daily living. It incorporates all of the major muscle groups as well as the muscles you never knew you had! All levels welcome*

Step it up: Weights and other various resistance will be used to increase heart rate and get your metabolism fired up! All levels are welcome*

Power Flow: This class focuses on body alignment, emphasizing muscular strength and flexibility by linking breath to movement. (Meet at outdoor TRX A-Frame) All levels welcome*

Outdoor Fitness: Test your mental and physical strength in this outdoor fitness class (meet at outdoor TRX A-Frame)! Train with TRX Suspension Straps, battle ropes, medicine balls and MORE! All levels welcome*
