San Diego, get ready! Pitbull and Gwen Stefani will take the stage at Naval Base San Diego on October 10 for a FREE Operation MWR concert hosted by NavyMWR Entertainment and presented by USAA!

 
EVENT ELIGIBILITY 
This event is open to all valid Department of War (DoW) ID cardholders with base access. Eligible DoW ID cardholders with escorting privileges, including Active Duty, Dependents, Retirees, Reservists, Veterans and DoW Civilians, may escort up to two (2) guests per DoW ID. 
  • Dependents, including children too young to qualify for a DoW ID, are not considered guests and do not count toward the two-guest limit. 
  • Guests must be in the same vehicle as their sponsor. Guests over 18 years of age must present a valid state or federal photo ID.

Non U.S. Citizen Guests (Foreign Nationals)
Non U.S. citizen guests must complete an additional vetting with their sponsor at the NBSD Visitor Control Center prior to the concert.

 

Know Before You Go

Camera Policy 
No cameras including all models, versions, and sizes. No video including all models, versions and sizes. No tablets including all models, versions, and sizes. Video recording and flash photography are prohibited. Media photography is permitted with event issue credential only. No generic or news outlet media badge will be accepted. All media request must be approved in advance. 

Cell phones are allowed.


Food and Drink
Food and drink will be available for purchase. Outside food and beverages will not be permitted. A variety of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Credit or debit cards only.

Alcohol sales will end at 9:30 PM. 

*Must be 21 or older to purchase/consume alcohol. IDs will be verified on site. All sales are final.

One (1) Factory sealed single-use 16.9 oz or smaller water bottle per person only is allowed. Water will also be available for purchase. 


Bag Policy
All bags must be clear and are subject to screening. Approved bag sizes are 12"x 6"x 12” or 1-gallon clear plastic storage bag. Small clutch purses are allowed but they must be no bigger than 6.5"x 9". No chairs and coolers are allowed.

Permitted Items
Guests may bring blankets to sit on.

Parking
Accessible parking will be available and there will be directional signs to direct traffic to parking lots when you arrive for the concert. 

 Additional parking is available at the wet side. Use the pedestrian bridge between NBSD Chapel and Mc Candless to reach the venue.


Entry/Access Points
There will be 3 different entry points identified on the map. (MAP TO FOLLOW)
All personal items should be discarded in the proper receptacles or removed from the event site when you depart.


MWR event staff reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone.

What is the guest policy?

Can a DoW Contractor ID (Green Stripe) holder bring guests on base? 
No, Green stripe contractor IDs do not have escorting or sponsoring privileges.


I'm a Veteran with a Veteran (VA) ID Card. Can I get on base, and can I bring a guest?
Veterans do not have escorting privileges but can obtain a base pass for their guests from the Visitor Control Center (VCC), vetting of guest will be required.


Can you use a DBIDS ID to access NBSD? 
No, DBIDS credentials are issued to contractors and authorized personnel who have been granted access to military bases and secure government facilities to perform specific work at specific times. DBIDS holders should understand that their access is limited, and conditional based on the reasons a DBIDS ID was issued.


Can a DBIDS ID holder bring guests on base? 
No, your DBIDS ID does not allow you to escort guests at any time. 


What time do the gates open?
Gates will open at 4:30 PM for the concert. 


What if it rains?
Rain or shine, we will be out there so please join us no matter the weather.


Will I be included in any marketing materials?
Yes. Photos and videos taken at this event are likely to be used in future marketing campaigns.


Is there a rideshare pick-up and drop-off location?
Yes. Pick-up and drop-off will be outside of Gate 32 (Yama St. and Main St.) in the Anchor’s Catering and Conference Center parking lot.


Can I take public transportation to the concert?
Yes. The nearest MTS bus stop is at Main St. and Yama St. (#929). The nearest MTS trolley stop is Pacific Fleet


Can I bring food and drink to the concert?
Outside food and beverages will not be permitted.


Will there be food options at the event?
Yes. A variety of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Credit or debit cards only.


Will alcohol be allowed?
Outside alcohol will not be permitted at the event. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the MWR Beer and Spirit booth.


MWR event staff reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone.

Prohibited Items

  • Firearms and weapons including any type of edged weapon to include knives, impact weapons, electric pulse weapons, ammunition, mace, pepper spray, or other chemical irritants, blunt objects, brass knuckles, blackjacks, etc. 
  • Tools, pliers, leathermans/multi-tools, knives, pocketknives, scissors, etc.
  • Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and personal beauty products, etc. 
  • Large battery packs or power banks over 1 lb. 
  • Alcohol of any kind
  • Illegal and illicit substances of any kind
  • Drugs and/or Drug Paraphernalia
  • Smoking, vaping, and related devices are prohibited. This includes e-cigarettes, vapes, vape pens, cartridges, and other electronic smoking devices
  • Bags that do not adhere to the specific event clear baggage policy including any hard-sided cases. Please click here for full bag policy details.
  • Professional cameras and professional recording (photo, video, audio) equipment (NO large professional detachable zoom lenses, stands, monopods, tripods, attachment sticks (selfie sticks), gimbals, frames, iPads, or other commercial equipment. No video recording will be allowed. 
  • Glass, Ceramic, Metal, Hard Plastic, containers of any kind (i.e. Nalgene, Hydroflask, etc.)
  • Outside food or beverage of any kind
  • Coolers of any kind (Exceptions may be made for medical use)
  • Chairs of any kind inside the venue
  • Wagons of any kind
  • Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind
  • Umbrellas of any kind
  • Inflatable of any kind (i.e. furniture, pool floats, toys, beachballs)
  • Animals/pets (except trained, documented, service animals as defined by the ADA)
  • Drones or any other remote flying device of any kind
  • Laser pointers, strobe devices, glow sticks, fireworks, or incendiary devices
  • Skateboards, long boards, "Razor" style boards, hoverboards, motorized transportation devices, bicycles, etc. 
  • Chains or spiked jewelry, collars, or leashes of any kind to include wallet chains
  • Flags, banners, totems, of any kind
  • Costume masks or face coverings (except for medicial/religious use)
  • Sticks, rods, bars, or rocks
  • Balloons, confetti, streamers, silly string
  • Markers, paint, spray paint, or permanent
  • Frisbees, balls or other thrown sports objects or toys
  • Artificial nosiemakers of any kind
  • Walkie talkies, radio scanners, or any other Radio Frequency devices
  • Signs or posters more than 2'x3' including multi-piece connecting signage. Paper or foamcoare only. Signs should not impede the viewing experience of other guests in attendance.
  • Publicly displayed matters containing content, symbols, or messages prohibited by Federal, Department of War (DoW) or Navy policy
  • Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No authorized solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc. 

Other items that in the judgement of security pose a safety hazard or diminish the enjoyment of the event by other guests. Prohibited items discovered during security inspections at the checkpoints must be either returned to the owner's vehicle or discarded. No safekeeping locations will be provided at the event. Prohibited items discovered inside the venue or any items left unattended are subject to confiscation and proper disposal. All attendees accept full liability for any personal items brought to the event.
