Digital Marketing Style Guide
What is the Digital Marketing Style Guide? It's a reference tool that helps our region maintain consistency in what our brand looks, feels and sounds like. Think of it this way - it's the heart and soul of Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR), that encompasses our mission, vision and values - translated in design.
Your NRSW Installation website is an integral component for online visibility.
Your website provides:
- Real time information for events and other Installation specific information
- Cross linking opportunities for Social Networking
- Feeds information into the Navy Life App
The Installation Marketing Rep is the designated content manager for the installation website. Your Regional Marketing Manager and Regional Web Administrator/Webmaster can request CNIC credentials for you. Your credentials will provide administration access to the Content Explorer and Media Manager areas of your website.
The main content management duties are:
- Timely Event data entry
- Media asset management
- Program data maintenance
Best practices for web:
Text:
- Less is more!
- No "shouting text" aka: ALL CAPS
- Brief and concise information.
Web Banners:
Web Banners provide quick, visual (not textual) interest and calls to action for specific events and announcements. The web home page banner carousel effectively accommodates 5-7 web banners at a time. The typical life cycle of a web banner is generally 2 weeks. There are many flexibilities with web banners on your home page carousel, specific event pages and program pages.
Web banner size is currently 640X360 px- the same proportional size as the 1920X1080 digital monitor slide. They can also be used cross functionally as web banners without additional adjustments.
Events:
- Minimum 2 weeks before event date.
- Brief and concise information
- Minimum 15-25 entries
Note: incomplete, expired or inactive events are generally purged every 30 days
Time Management:
All digital activities (event entries, social networking, website updates, etc.) are most effective when they are planned and executed (or scheduled) in the early part of your week.
